Designed for close friends in the development known as ‘Domaine Anna’ in Flic and Flac, Mauritius. The brief was to establish a house suitable for the family of 3 with a reasonably sized guest room and orientation towards the sea. Consideration had to be taken of the simplistic design guidelines imposed by the ‘morcellement’. The site faces west towards the sea with some captured views from the first floor, however consideration needed to be taken for the harsh west sun which was dealt with by incorporating large overhangs with provisions for movable screens and blinds to be added later. It is a well orientated modern house with a touch of island style.
